This session will focus on how to teach Jan Richardson’s comprehension strategies. The session will also cover how to explicitly teach vocabulary in a research-based and efficient way, how to incorporate non-fiction and multicultural texts, and how to deliver instruction through co-teaching. Some resources that will be shared include: a large digital bank of Tier III vocabulary cards with images (including cards for all of Jan Richardson’s character traits and feelings), anchor charts and student recording sheets that go with Jan Richardson’s comprehension strategies, and co-teaching resources.
